Virginia Peninsula Chinese School is a non-profit, independent Chinese school providing an education of modern Chinese language for the people in Virginia peninsula area.

捐款助灾

Chinese residences in paninsula showed tromendaouse compassion toward our community. By the end of May, over 120 Chinese residences in paninsula have answered the call of PCAA , and donated over $16,000 to help relief the pandemic impact on the local community. $5,000 went to the Virginia Penisula Food Bank. Over $8,000 were used to purchase medical equipment, N95 masks, and PEE, etc.

In January, Virginia Penisula Chinese School organized students to volunteer at Peninsula Virginia Food Bank , devliverd food to the needed, and taught our students to contribute to the local community.

WHO WE ARE

The Virginia Peninsula Chinese School (PCS) is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to offering modern Chinese language education to the residents of the Virginia Peninsula. The school’s mission is to promote Chinese culture and heritage within Chinese-American communities, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation between Chinese culture and other cultures. Founded in 1977, PCS started with a modest group of about 30 students and three teachers. By 1980, thanks to the sponsorship of the late Dr. Agnes Braganza, PCS became a part of the continuing education program at Christopher Newport University (CNU). The school’s curriculum places a strong emphasis on the Chinese language, cultural heritage, and includes occasional enrichment programs. Today, PCS has grown significantly, boasting over 10 classes and approximately 120 students.
